The Magic of Spices Panch Phoron

Panch pheron is a very popular spice mix in Indian cuisine, consisting of five spices: cumin, fennel, fenugreek, mustard seeds, and kalonji. It is ideal for vegetable and dal (bean) dishes, and is typically stir-fried in oil to bring out the spice's aroma. It is also commonly used in Ayurvedic cuisine. Rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals, it is recommended when you have a poor appetite.

It is expected to have antioxidant properties that help improve digestion and boost immunity.

■How to use

It is important to fry the panch pheron spices in oil slowly on fish or meat to extract the aroma.

Lentil soup recipe:

Adding about 10g of panchphoron, bay leaves, and red chilies before heating the oil will add even more depth to the flavor (cold start).

Then slowly turn on the heat to bring out the aroma, then add thinly sliced onions and lentils and fry.

Add water and bring to a boil and your lentil soup is ready!

- Use it to marinate meat or fish to enhance the flavor!
- Just add a little to soups and sauces for a professional-quality taste.
